the "how do I even watch this" page on the superbowl site is sorta like its own little puzzle game/ARG you can play at home! nfl.com/super-bowl/ways-to-wat

I wonder for how many people the answer to "how do I watch the superbowl" is either (a) you already subscribe to two different services that give you access but you didn't know about it or (b) you can't unless you start paying this extra monthly fee and/or buy this piece of hardware

@aparrish The Verge had an article with part of the choose your own adventure specific for people that want to try to watch in 4K on their 4K screens. Given antenna will stop at 720p, so you have to use an app and specific hardware, some of which Fox is currently infighting with (Roku). The punchline from the comments is that Fox’s “4K” broadcast based on likely cameras will just be 1080p upscaled with software. Lol

@aparrish Not even on the NFL page, but I saw Hulu was heavily advertising streaming the game, yet I could not figure out if they only meant for people with the $40+ Live TV bundle or if it’s one of the limited list of things they’ll stream live for every subscriber, nor am I sure I have any way to find out until the game actually starts.

@max @aparrish

Antenna reception of OTA (over the air) HDTV is casually good for 1080i.

@seachanged @aparrish Yeah, I’m not knocking what antenna can do, just pointing out how disappointed some folks will be that their 4K screens can’t get 4K football, lol

@max if they use machine learning to upscale it, maybe we'll get to see the Puppyslug Bowl
