What if we deleted the French-borrowed English words “genre” and “gender”? (Which was the same word borrowed twice in different time periods, lol, English you goof.)

We could just go back to asking questions in the Old English way: “What kind of book is it?” “What kind of person are you?”

It could be quite valida—

The voice in my ear just said that “kind” in its Germanic roots have all sorts of racism involved when applied to people. Guess that’s part of why English borrowed “genre” twice 🤦
