Holiday shopping

Target brought back the glossy paper catalog for Holiday 2020.

That’s… actually rather clever. I might even flip through it.

Angular is Hell

Me, months ago: I don’t like Angular, I don’t think it is engineered well.

Them, months ago: But we all know Angular

Me, million times since: How do you do x in Angular?

Them, every time: Dunno Angular that well

Suddenly I’m damned to being the Angular expert despite hating Angular.

I just want to burn this shit to the ground and start from scratch. 🤬

Cats (2019 film)

I did not expect to still be trying to watch this two hours later. The time bar says that I still have another hour somehow (!). I’m worried I may be trapped in cat limbo. Send help

Cats (2019 film)

In like 1.5s it shows:

A) These actors really had no idea what they were doing

B) These animators were underpaid given what they had to work with

C) This dude cat is extremely lucky because you swipe a real cat’s ear space like that without warning, you get clawed

D) I’m clearly not paying attention to the songs at this point

E) I am watching it like a horror movie because each rewatch I expect the dude cat to get clawed for that mistake

Cats (2019 film)

So, I paused this moment and stepped through it like three times because it’s a weird unnecessary bit of artistry that some people were hugely underpaid for. One cat (idk/idc his name) runs his arm over Victoria’s head but without enough room for her ears. Some animators made it look like he intentionally brushes them (the wrong direction) with a cute little ear wink/shake. At surface level it adds some “cat-like” as it covers up a silly mistake.

Cats (2019 film)

A) Definitely going to have nightmares after this

B) How was it possible people watched this without a pause button? I need something like a stress break after every song

“Hold on, let me double check my workarounds are still aroundworking.”

I suppose he also cheaped out on good fuses for the time circuits. He may be a scientific genius, but he should probably build fewer system critical parts with used pinball machine parts.

Doc really cheaped out on not getting an EV conversion on the Delorean in 2015. Sure, the hover conversion is cool, but think about the practical EV range you could get with a Mr. Fusion on board when you weren’t hovering or time traveling. 1.21 gigawatts would last me like two decades in 2020 EV mileage.

Still amazing that BTTF is the anti-2001 in picking brands that actually still existed and were relevant in 2015. The biggest exception is JVC and they didn’t go bankrupt, just M&Aed into other brands people did buy in 2015, but still could have put out nostalgia gear under the old brand in 2015 had they wanted.

Doc’s reaction to the cops in 2015 and trying to entirely avoid them makes a lot more sense this year. Doc says ACAB

I guess I’m envious of that a little. I wouldn’t mind time traveling back to 2015 right now just to hit some random conventions I may have missed the first time.

Doc clearly got way too much into anime in 2015. Such a weeb. Probably attended a ton of anime cons before deciding to check on Marty’s family.

I should perhaps note that while I did not receive this email notification via closet fax machine nor head mounted display, I did get it and read it from my watch, which is appropriately Future enough.

Lol, Universal just sent me an email if I need the BTTF trilogy in 4K. It’s a bit late to ask for tonight’s viewing.

But now I’m wondering if I need a 4K copy.

I can’t stop thinking about that deep fake of Tom Holland as Marty McFly

I wonder if anyone has yet rigged up an RC style remote for say Tesla autopilot?

I’m sure IoT coffee makers exist already, probably even ones I can Siri Shortcut with Apple Home. Maybe rig up an RPi and a tiny robot to a Foreman Grill for sausage or bacon. Someone probably has an open source schematic somewhere.

Building a Rube Goldberg breakfast machine might be a fun quarantine project.
