Is Sagira an option for permanent Ghost voice? Because I'd love to replace "Nolan North pretends to be Dinklebot" voice, personally. #Destiny2

Why isn't the Mac Book Pro a touch screen in 2017? I keep trying to tap icons and it's not responding. It feels broken and dumb, especially with an iPad on it's left and a Windows laptop on it's left, both of which I'm touching for things. Just let me touch the things, machine.

Bedford Falls is a pernicious myth that never was. There's no "George Bailey" in the history books, never happened. A 1980s hotelier with a passion for casinos with his name in bright lights on them is President. We've always lived in President Tannen's Potter States of America. There's no wild haired mad scientist or wild haired "angel" around to fix this mess, not probable. We were in the dystopia this whole time. Happy Holidays, be sure to spend all your money in the casino.

Tried an Impossible Burger tonight (at witchcraft vegan eatery Morels) and it was delicious. Impossible Foods have indeed created something crazy close to medium rare-ish ground beef, but entirely plant based. I'm not going to inquire how, I'm okay with imagining beef plants magically sizzling in beef groves.
I know it's been suggested before, but why aren't the DC superhero TV folks in Hollywood North (that mystical Land of Vancouver) just given charge of the movies, too? "Crisis on Earth-X" was the Justice League movie I wanted this year: Nazi punching, a fun and diverse cast, some feels. #ccfb
It's so very apparent in the CW/DC crossovers, but why is the Arrow team's sound design so deficient compared to the rest of the "Berlantiverse"? Supergirl's production team: loud, clear, easy to hear. Arrow's production team: mumblecore, with filters that wash out sibilants to the point that everyone sounds like they are whispering with a lisp.
Late to finally watching it, but Kong: Skull Island really was brilliant to recontextualize Kong into a Vietnam era ensemble movie. It's about the last era the undiscovered island concept works (and the script plays into that, hello LANDSAT), and can play against American jingoism in interesting ways.

Fuck all this barking in my condo hallway. Next place I move I may try to remember to avoid places that allow dogs. I get why people like them, but they make terrible neighbors in urban environments.
Religion v Superman Show more
IShit, I just realized why so many idiots like Zach Snyder have such a bizarre love of the stupid Death of Superman storyline: It coopts the Jewish hero and makes him a true Christ figure. Ugh. I should have realized that with Man of Steel, but JL seems to make it clear as day.
I was reflecting on my current personal ambivalence towards pronouns used in reference to me. One maybe surprising thing I realized is that "Max" is short and memorable enough that it often feels like its own pronoun. I realized I hear "Max" a lot more than any pronoun, and it takes extra effort to strongly gender it or otherwise make it hurtful. There may not be a useful general takeaway from that, but I realize its a rare phenomenon and maybe useful to be aware of it when thinking beyond me.
That last bit about the galactic space olympics is because of course EE is coaching the next generation of the animated Mighty Ducks, the super powered anthro ducks that are mostly evil. Because we all know from many other Disney properties that evil is a recessive trait that often skips generations.
Stupid movie universe pitch: So inter-connected movie universes are a big deal, no? Here's an idea: The Mighty Ducks League Universe. Each original Mighty Duck kid is now down and out like Emilio Estevez (EE) in D1 and each in a different city must teach a new generation of kids. Big build up to match ups between teams every couple movies. EE turns out to be the big bad pulling strings behind the scenes and the final boss in a galactic space olympics hockey jam.
The CW/DC Flash show Show more
A) I'm still amazed The Flash this season brought in Plastic Man and found a suitably Jim Carrey-esque, though TV budget, actor for him (I imagine it was too tough given they cast in Vancouver and that is a Canadian export 🍁), B) Huge continuing kudos to Tom Cavanagh for having far too much fun playing multiverse variants of the character.
Also, sorry I wasn't using a macron for Long E (ē), but I am on a mobile keyboard and had already committed to schwa in my paste buffer. #LanguageNerdApologies

Smeap is the honk of a flamingo. Smeap was also at least once, a storybook land at the weird intersection of TV ads and the worlds they seem to inhabit. It was a place where wars were fought over sodas, and talking polar bears had very good reasons to guard soda machines. It was a place where rainbow color candies were harvested for electric power. It was a place where a prairie dog might move to big city inhabited mostly by Pink Flamingos to follow her dream to be private investigator, only to get slowly entangled in the seedy underbelly of crime and prohibited soda trading of the Neon Flamingos and their syndicate. Social media at times lately feels like it has become almost entirely seedy underbelly with very little upside. Maybe it needs more storybook worlds.
