Remembering that 20 years ago I kept expecting a visit from a time traveler from the future, say 20 years later, and oh the shit I could my younger self… and wish someone had. 😭

This year's vacation left me with a lot of feelings to process. Partly because there was an accidental existential crisis in the middle of it.

I really like that the redesign in Insider Preview of the Windows 10 Game Bar includes an easy to read clock. It's one of the simple things that the Xbox overlays have gotten right for a long time (at least since the 360), but have long been inconsistent in PC game overlays. Clock alone skyrockets the usefulness of the Game Bar.

That feeling when company executives announce a drop in paid holidays.

New twist of course is hanging up on "Is [so and so] there?" if the name is not mine. Thanks robots for ruining that bit of etiquette. At this point I don't care if it's still considered rude to hang up there, if you don't know who you are calling you are likely a robot now.

Still iterating on ways to say "Hello" that humans don't mind but robots don't recognize. I guess it's a vocal captcha problem, and I'm sure that it's ultimately a doomed endeavor. Phone calls are stupid, why do we still allow them such priority over our devices?

I'm dreaming of a Snowy Life Day / Just like the ones I used to know. ☃ Sleep deprived me thinks I'd pay to see Disney make Hoth: Snowy Life Day: A Star Wars Musical. (Still laughing about using White Christmas as a referent capstone in my recent Star Wars blog post.)

Bright was... alright I guess. Mostly just left me wondering when the next Dragon Age game will be out.

I posted far too many words about my troubled feelings about Poe Dameron's storyline in The Last Jedi. I'm sorry.

Smeap.com

Smeap is the honk of a flamingo. Smeap was also at least once, a storybook land at the weird intersection of TV ads and the worlds they seem to inhabit. It was a place where wars were fought over sodas, and talking polar bears had very good reasons to guard soda machines. It was a place where rainbow color candies were harvested for electric power. It was a place where a prairie dog might move to big city inhabited mostly by Pink Flamingos to follow her dream to be private investigator, only to get slowly entangled in the seedy underbelly of crime and prohibited soda trading of the Neon Flamingos and their syndicate. Social media at times lately feels like it has become almost entirely seedy underbelly with very little upside. Maybe it needs more storybook worlds.
